How active are you?
How long should you work out for every day? An age-old question that has been given many answers.
Well, here's mine:
You should work out intensely for a minimum of 1 hour at least 5 days a week. Why? There are lots of reasons. Not only can you get in twice the amount of work and calorie burn that you could in a half hour, but when it comes to how many hours you are truly active during the day, it puts things in perspective.
How many hours are in a day? 24
How many hours are in a week? 168 (24x7)
How many hours should you sleep? 56 (8x7)
168-56 = 112.
There are 112 hours in a week that you can be active in. Your arguement might be, "well I work 8 hours a day 5 days a week, I don't have time!" OK! 5x8=40 hours.
112-40 = 72 hours.
72 hours still remain...
If you work out for a half hour 5 days a week thats only 2.5 hours. Which means you exercise for roughly 3% of your available time.
If you work out for an hour 5 days a week thats 5 hours. Which means you exercise for roughly 7% of your available time.
Yes, I just said that you are only active for 7 percent of your week. Otherwise you are working, sleeping, or something else.
The point that I am trying to get across is that everyone needs to be MORE active. Everyone has time in the day to workout, and you everyone should be striving to be as active as possible all the time!
Even if you work out for 5 hours a week (which is not bad), thats onlky 4% of your entire week. Don't you think you can be more active than that? I do!
